Check this out: Balrog head replica, life-size!
I'm affraid it would overshadow (in every way) my LotR swords if mounted
on the same wall :|, but otherwise I'd consider getting it. Looks
amazing; stands 40" tall, 48" wide and 26" deep. Limited edition, 20 (!!!)
pieces, retail $2.000.00.

Spectacular! I would have thought it would have been bigger, though, if it were lifesize, considering how big it appeared in the movie.

Thats what I was thinking... although it is quite big... i'm thinking lifesize... that head would be about 6 feet tall.
If I had the money and space to store it.. Id think about getting that thing... that looks like it would be a great halloween decoration :)

Good grief!!! Who the heck is producing/selling that thing? Is that from Sideshow Weta? I wish I had a huge house with one large room that I could devote just to LOTR stuff. Then I wouldn't be afraid to get something like that and put it on the display. As it is, people already glance nervously at all my swords and the ominous Sauron helm. No telling what they would do if they came face to face with a Balrog head like that.
I also agree with Olorin, the one in the movie seemed bigger, but it could have been just the perspective. I think the best way to judge the scale is when Gandalf rides the Balrog down into the pit. When he grabs onto one of the horns, he does seem a bit smaller than the person we can see in one of those photos.

Nope, I found it first on eBay and a brief research led me to this firm
called Gentle Giant (must admit, never heard of it before).
Didn't find anything much interesting there, apart from this bust of course.

Good point! Didn't think of that. :thumbs_up

You were right:
To compare, here's WETA's original used for 3D scans:

That Balrog head is amazing! It's gigantic. Gandalf falling with the Balrog in The Two Towers is one of the best scenes in a movie I've ever seen on the big screen.
